Two people have been fatally shot at the Sun-drop Bottling Co. in Concord this morning, police said, and authorities are continuing to search for a suspect. Concord Deputy Chief Guy Smith said authorities received a 911 call at 10 a.m. from a Sun-drop employee that there were "two people down." A suspect was seen running from the building, at the intersection of Branchview Drive and Cabarrus Avenue, and heading toward downtown Concord, Smith said. Police helicopters and canine units are assisting in the search.Three to four people were in the building at the time of the shooting, Smith said. The names of the victims were not released yet.Smith said the suspect was a black man, around 20 years old with shoulder-length dreadlocks, wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.The company was founded in 1954, and is run by the King family, whose roots in soda bottling date back to 1904.In a 2005 story in the Observer, the company said it had 28 employees, annual gross sales of about $6 million and produced 1,800 to 5,000 cases of soda a day.More details to come.
