Car fire closes I-77 ramp
A car fire this morning has forced the closing of a ramp off southbound Interstate 77 in Charlotte.

Closed is the ramp from southbound I-77 to West Boulevard. A car caught on fire shortly after 6 a.m. Firefighters quickly put out the blaze, but the ramp has been closed until authorities are able to move the vehicle and clean debris in the area.

The incident also has slowed traffic on the main portion of southbound I-77 in the area.

Motorists can expect the ramp closing and slow traffic to continue until at least 7 a.m.
